01:04 pm - 20 Random Facts About Lucky Spencer. (General Hospital) I told you this would become a series. Blame it on leobrat, folks. Hope you guys enjoy, and I'm still working on ideas for the one about Serena.
Also, I'm accepting prompts for any character in any fandom that I write in, so if you want to see one of these about a specific character or pairing, feel free to request!
1. When he is younger, his mother jokes that he isn't going to know what his real name is, but Luke just laughs and brushes it off, because Lucky likes the aliases. They make him feel like a superhero, like Clark Kent.
2. He also thinks his parents are the coolest people in the world. The way his mother can make any place they were staying feel like home, and the way his dad calls him "Cowboy" and teaches him how to be one.
3. He gets a real home, eventaully. A big house, with enough room for all of them to spread way out. His room is decorated in a cowboy motif, no surprise there. Plus there's room for Foster, his dog, who is the coolest dog ever, even if Dad doesn't like him.
4. It's because of Foster that he meets Emily Bowen, later Quartermaine, and at first he thinks that she's just gonna be this girl, that maybe he'll hang out with sometimes, but not too much because she is a girl after all. Then they end up going out West to look for her aunt, and when they get back to Port Charles he realizes that they've bonded (he wrinkles his nose at that thought) so basically he's stuck with her for the rest of his life and they may as well be best friends because she certainly wasn't going anywhere.
5. He learned something about Emily on that trip; she adores grape popsicles, expecially when she's upset, and so he starts bringing them to her because having purple lips always makes her feel better. He still does it even to this day; the last time was at the hospital after the crisis at the Metro Court (and who knew how hard it was to find a grape popsicle at seven-thirty in the morning?) when she didn't know if her father was going to make it.
6. He gets a little sister eventually. Lesley Lu, they name her. She becomes such a huge part of his world so quickly, and he wonders if she will ever know just how much he loves her.
7. That night outside Kelly's, he knew little Lizzie Webber was going to rock his world.
8. He had no idea how fully she would steal his heart.
9. His little sister was sick. And because of this, he learned that the only person who could help her was an older brother that neither he nor his father ever knew about.
10. People assumed he hated Nikolas because of the circumstances of his birth, and that he was a Cassadine. Really, it was because he could save Lu when Lucky couldn't.
11. Eventually, though, Liz and Emily (who had the biggest crush on Nikolas- Lucky knew this even though she hotly denied it- and who did she think she was lying to anyway? Who knew her better than Lucky?) banded together and forced the two brothers to be friends. The four of them became quite the little group- the Four Musketeers, as they came to be called.
12. He still doesn't like to talk about the fire, or the time when Helena had him. The one time he really let it out he ended up throwing things, but Emily just sat there on the couch and let him rant and cry.
13. He hates everything that he has done to his 'Lizabeth. There is that, though- she's still his Lizzie, and he's convinced that even though they're divorcing (again) one day they'll be able to stop hurting each other and just be together.
14. No one will ever know just how much he regrets what happened with Maxie and the pills. Except maybe her, because they've talked about it and he knows that she thinks it was a mistake too. That doesn't make him feel any better, though. If anything it makes him feel worse, because they were should've known better.
15. Cruz Rodriguez became his partner after Jesse died. More than that, he became his best friend and nearly like a brother. The only thing that keeps Lucky from referring to him as such is that Cruz hates the Yankees. Lucky can't handle that. Also, he's seen his partner making eyes at his baby sister. He just doesn't know what he's going to do about it yet, so he thinks it's better to lie low until he figures it out.
16. He knows Jake isn't his son; he isn't stupid. And he doesn't know if Liz knows that he knows, but he isn't going to say anything. He tries to keep in mind that what is important is that Jake grow up loved, and he definitely is. And he tries not to resent Liz for lying to him, because there is enough bad blood between them already.
17. He worries about Nikolas. His brother insists that he's fine, but Lucky knows what the pressure of being the head of the Cassadine family does to Nik, and he's afraid his brother is going to crack soon if he doesn't let someone help him.
18. He holds a fierce belief in his heart that one day he will be reunited with his mother, no matter what the doctors say. No offense to them, but Lucky knows his mother better than they do, and he knows she would never leave her children for good- not like this.
19. He's more like his dad than he would ever admit. Sometimes he just wants to hop on his bike and sail out of town, away from everything. The difference between him and Luke is that the things in this town that are important to him don't just bring him back, they keep him from leaving in the first place. He thinks that's Laura's influence.
20. On Cameron's seventh birthday, Liz arrives at the house (minus Jake- Jason would be bringing him later, once the party started) and sends Cam to the kitchen to see the cake Grandpa Luke is attempting to help Grandma Laura bake. Once the two are alone on the porch, she turns to Lucky with a look that he knows all too well and suddenly he's a teenager again and kissing her for the first time, and he knows they're gonna be okay.

This was...OMG, just beautiful. I loved the Cruz parts, but the parts about Emily and you really just included everyone important...
I've got to do one of these. They're eating my brain.
Glad I could inspire you. :)
Thanks so much! It's really one of those things that I can't start and stop write; it has to be a stream-of-consciousness thing. So they come when the inspiration strikes.
The part about Cruz was something I just thought would be funny....and I loved putting in the parts about Emily. Their friendship, to me, is one of the things that I most love about GH; it's one of those friendships that transcends romantic love, like (not to be cliche, but) Joey and Dawson. They love each other so much that they couldn't possibly love each other in a romantic sense. If that makes any sense. :)
Can't wait to see which character you choose! Any requests? I think I want to do Cruz; I'd love to get in his head. :)

I've got so many characters. I'll take a request? Tell you what, throw a bunch at me (from whatever fandom) and I'll give it a shot.
Hmmm....who would I like to see you write?
Oh, man, Lucy Coe. Unless of course you don't want to get inside her head, which I completely understand, lol. Also, Maxie Jones. And possibly Felicia.
I'll think about other fandoms and get back to you.

Psst...I'm working on this Maxie one. The first 15 facts came easy and I'm sort of stumped on the last 5. I'll probably post it after I watch the premieres tonight.
Yay! Exciting...I'll read it when you post it!
This is great! And I loved the Emily mentions, she's so central to the first few years he was on the show.
14-I like the idea that Maxie and Lucky have sat down and had an adult talk about everything. Did Lucky ever do the whole 'making amends' thing with her onscreen?
16-We both have the same wish about this, and I so hope this is what plays out on screen. At this point, it's the only explanation that keeps Lucky from looking like the biggest idiot in Port Charles. And it would be the one thing Luke couldn't do: love his wife's son because he was hers despite the father being his enemy.
19-Yeah, that's the perfect illustration of what it means to be the son of Luke and Laura Spencer.
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I had a great time writing it. And of course Emily is in there that much, how could she not be? :)
Number 14 just seemed to make sense to me, though I don't think it ever actually remotely happened onscreen. As for 19, I had to do it. I mean, he's so much like Luke.... |
