05:20 pm - Drabble meme!
Okay, so I'm bored. And I want to write, but I have no inspiration at the moment. So who wants drabble fics??

Leave a comment with a pairing or character, fandom, and prompt word or phrase or whatever, and I shall write you a drabbly thing.

I haven't watched GH in *months*, but could you write something about Lulu & Cruz at the black & white ball? Or, like, do you watch AMC? Something with Aidan and Lily and/or Ava?

Lulu tugged irritably on the ruffles the bedecked the skirt of her dress, looking across the room at where Lucky was standing, talking to his partner. Cruz Rodriguez. He looked incredible, in a black tux that he was wearing with a black shirt and white tie. It should be against the law for a man to look that good, she thought grouchily. Her frown grew deeper as his date, some redheaded bimbo nurse that Lizzie had set him up with, walked over and joined the two men, giggling over something or other.

Hmph. If things had gone the way they were supposed to, he would have been there with her and not Lynette. What kind of name was Lynette, anyway? And how dare he be having fun with some nurse while she was over here nursing a broken heart- one that, incidentally, had been all his fault in the first place? It certainly wasn't Lulu's fault that he couldn't get past the fact that she was a few years younger than him- okay, more than a few, but honestly!

Her mental ranting was interrupted by someone tapping on her shoulder. Turning around, she expected to see her date, Spinelli (who wasn't actually a date date, but just a friend date, and really she was just there with him to help him to evade that Nadine chick, as well as attempt to capture the attention of one Georgie Jones). Instead, standing in front of her was the object of her thoughts. Her frown deepened ever further and she threw back what was left of her drink- whiskey, the exact kind that her dad always drank.

"Shouldn't you be with your date?" she asked dryly, sitting the empty glass on a nearby table. He merely sighed, hands on his hips.

"Listen, Lulu-" was all he got out before she cut him off.

"No, you listen. You were supposed to be here with me tonight," she said, getting angry. How dare he ruin her night- what was supposed to have been their night- by showing up with some other woman and then having the gall to- she shook her head. It wasn't worth the effort anymore.

Taking his glass from his hand, she downed the rest of his drink (whatever it was) and handed it back to him. "I'm done. Go dance with Lynnette, marry her if you want. I mean, hell, she's what? Twenty-seven? And she's got a career, and I bet she doesn't have a brother who's your partner and your best friend and whatever. So go for it. Hope it's great. Hope you guys are happy, because I'm sure as hell going to be."

Looking him in the eye one last time, she whirled away, feeling a little tipsy and reckless and her anger seething. She was going to have a great time, damn it. And if he happened to see her and wish that it was him with her, then so much the better.

Tamping down on the bone-deep ache she was feeling, she set off to find Spinelli, ignoring the fact that she had just left her heart with the one man she would never be able to be with.

Ouchy. I didn't mean for it to be that angsty, or that rambly for that matter. It just turned out to be all stream-of-consciousness-y and that's what came out. Hope you enjoy..it was different because I usually write them happy, so it was interesting to do. As for AMC, I haven't really followed it enough to write anything...my last Aidan pairing was Anita, so you can see the last time I really watched.

The camera pans in on a young man and woman, waltzing in the middle of a grand ballroom. The young man looks a little uncomfortable, but he is clearly a natural dancer and his discomfort has nothing to do with the waltz and everything to do with the fact that he is wearing a tux and tie instead of his normal tee-shirt and beanie. The young woman speaks.

"So, Mr. Jackal, has this night turned out the way you wanted it to?"

"Not really."

There is silence for a moment. Then, at the slightly hurt look that the young woman is giving him, the young man hastens rephrase what he is trying to say.

"What...what the Jackal means to say, is that the night didn't exactly turn out the way that he thought he wanted it to, however he is certainly not going to complain about the way that it did turn out, because it turned out far better than the Jackal could have even imagined in his-"

The young man is cut off in a rather effective way, and it seems as though his answer has satisfied the young woman. As the other couples dance around them, slightly out of focus, the young couple is oblivious to the world, completely wrapped up in each other, as the camera fades to black.

Wow. That was very different from my normal style. However, I liked it, and I hope you do too!
