02:19 pm - 20 Facts Fic: Robin Scorpio Also, just to let you guys know, my 20 facts stories usually turn out more narrative-ish.
1. Sonny used to wear two silver bands that had belonged to Stone- Robin had given them to him after Stone died. Her first Christmas back in Port Charles, he gave her one of them. It now resides (permanently) on the middle finger of her left hand.
2. Her cameo ring had long since been turned into a necklace so that she could wear it closer to her heart.
3. She hadn't seen her ex-stepmother Holly in almost twenty years before she saw her that day in the Markham Islands. Holly had changed- she wasn't the caring woman that Robin remembered. She was harder, somehow, as though the years had not been kind to her.
4. Robin had this odd feeling that the last time her mother had left Port Charles on a "mission", just after the Eli Love concert, it had been to yank her father out of some kind of trouble. Come on. Black market alien bones?
5. The first time Uncle Mac had seen her with her nose pierced, he had sputtered and gaped for a few moments before ordering her to take it out, because he didn't want Maxie to get any ideas.
6. When she was a child, she idolized her father and though that Robert Scorpio could do anything. When she was grown up, he proved her right by coming back into her life so suddenly, and she hated that part of her was so happy to see him, because the rest was so angry.
7. If you asked Robin what she wanted to be when she grew up, she would tell you (even now, because she hardly considered herself grown up) Anna Devane Scorpio. Not her job, but the way that she lived her life. She had been through so much, yet still somehow managed to have such an amazing outlook on life. Robin thinks that that is probably where she got her strength.
8. Robin had a little sister once, Leora. She wished so much sometimes that she had been able to spend more time with her before she died. Robin also wished that Anna would tell Robert about Leora- that was one of the few things about Anna's life that Robin's father didn't know, and Robin believed that he should.
9. No matter what, Brenda Barrett would always be not just Robin's best friend, but her sister. Oh, wait- Brenda Barrett Morgan. Apparently having three names made you sound more professional in the business world.
10. Robin would always love Jason. Always. She wasn't in love with him anymore, but she did love him for who they had been to each other, and she was incredibly grateful (not to mention happy) that they had regained their friendship.
11. Patrick Drake was the most utterly infuriating man on the planet. And Robin loved him more than she had anyone since Stone.
12. Part of her was screaming at her to take him back, even though he didn't want children and she did. She gave in to that part for maybe a day before she realized that she couldn't do it- she couldn't give up her dream of being a mother, and so she had to give up part of her heart instead.
13. That day, that one day that she gave into her need to be with Patrick ended up giving her the other thing that she wanted most in the world. Ironic.
14. She didn't tell Patrick at first- didn't tell anyone at first, except Kelly anyway, and when everyone else did find out they all just thought that she had gone to a sperm bank. And it was easy to avoid telling Patrick, because he went off to a four week medical conference in Lausanne during February (around the same time everyone else found out). When he got back, however, she was four months along and showing.
15. She was finishing giving Sonny and Carly (and Jacks) instructions on how to take care of Morgan's broken arm (he had climbed a tree and fallen) when Patrick stepped off the elevator. She hadn't gained weight anywhere else, but her swollen stomach was quite visible under the fitted Eli Love concert tee she was wearing under her open lab coat.
16. To his credit, he didn't faint- or flip out. He merely stared for a few moments before moving to sit in the waiting area. When she was done with Morgan, he stood again and walked to her. Robin took Patrick's hand and led him to an empty OR and over the next three hours (with interruptions from their beepers) they somehow managed to hash things out, though things were still tense.
17. Robin turned out to be a stereotypical pregnant woman. She wanted things such as banana ice cream, with pickles as a topping and hot sauce drizzled on top. And, oddly, Patrick was more than happy to go and get them when she called him at 3 a.m. She also found it amusing, because he and Uncle Mac often tried to outdo each other with getting her whatever she wanted first.
18. The first time Robin held Robert Alan Drake, she cried. He was so tiny, and perfect, and all hers. No- theirs.
19. The first time Robin saw Patrick hold Robbie, she cried. He was staring down at their little boy as though he had discovered the reason that he was alive.
20. One night when Robbie was about three months old, Robin had come home from the hospital a little later than she had intended (Epiphany had tried to send her home early and she had ended up being late because they were fighting) and found the apartment quiet- too quiet. After hanging up her coat, she went into the bedroom where she found Patrick laying on the bed, sound asleep, their son sleeping on his chest. She stood there for a moment, contemplating how lucky she was, before slipping off her shoes and crawled onto the bed with them. She was asleep within moments.
