Writing is hard. As much as I love it, and as seemingly sane as writing keeps me, it's hard some days. Writing wasn't hard today because of the content I was writing. I actually had some idea of where I was going with the story, or as much of an idea as someone without an outline can have.
The problem was the candy in front of me. Write a few words, grab a piece of candy. Write a few more words, grab some candy. Next thing I knew, I had only written 300 words and had eaten more candy than I'm willing to admit. It didn't help much that I bought two bags of candy this weekend because they were 75% off. Mmm, Mounds and Heath bars.
An hour later I had written a thousand words. This is not my normal pace of writing, and it's especially problematic because I have to be awake again in eight hours--and alert at that. I was already falling asleep at my desk at four in the afternoon. What's a writer to do but fix some hot chocolate and bring it back to the writing station?
Okay, this didn't help either, but it was yummy, and it was a good distraction from my writing. Another three hours passed, and I wrote only two thousand words. I slowed down even more, but at least I hit my personal quota for the day. Despite having written at what feels like my slowest pace since my first few years of NaNoWriMo, hitting quota is a good thing, right?
Let's hope tomorrow is better.

The last couple of times our family had tacos for dinner, there were complaints that the taco seasoning was too salty. This is a good thing, because it means the lower-fat and salt regimen everyone's been on to one extent or another since Dad G's heart attack and bypass surgery is working. We're all noticing how much saltier commercially sold foods are compared to stuff made from scratch (which I'm getting better at).
Anyway, back to the tacos. I poked around online and tried a homemade taco seasoning recipe without telling anyone what I'd used until after everyone had scarfed down dinner; and then asked their opinion. It was a hit! So I thought I'd share it with you. The flavor is mild, so those who like more heat can add more chili powder of maybe a dash of cayenne to the mix for more kick.

Just wanted to give a big congrats and shout out to everyone who posts on the Spixie Nation thread on ABC's GH Message Board. Yesterday this thread reached the milestone of 30,000 Spixie loving posts.
30,000 posts of analyzing every glance and line of dialogue, of supporting each other as we suffered through Winnie, Dr Happy Pants and JZ.
Since July 19th, 2008 the thread has done over 30,000 posts about Spin, Maxie and Spixie (Sometimes General show as well) and it has had 383,000 clicks/views. The thread is the largest thread on the message board and manages to stay on page 1 most of the time.
Kudos to everyone who has helped make the thread an interesting place to hang out and talk Spixie. It has stayed postive and stayed clean without any fan base wars and that itself is a miracle. LOL Hope to see more Spixie fans stop by and check in some times

Pictures/promos can be misleading of course..... Reading some are saying Maxie is drugged (wasnt there a rape rumor a while ago)....and just because she rips his shirt off, doesn't mean she isn't rescued before it goes further....Or perhaps she is doing investigating (with Spinelli or Jason watching from a closet) and is looking for whatever she is looking for. I don't get why some are just jumping to the conclusion that Maxie/Franco sleep together.
